Norwood Young America is home to Stiftungsfest, Minnesota’s
oldest annually held celebration. This year will be the 150th
annual celebration. One of the highlighted features of this
year’s celebration will be a grand day parade on Sunday
August 28th at 12:30 PM. Stiftungsfest hosts a
parade just once every five years. This year we are trying to
make it the best parade ever.
We pride
ourselves on the units that we allow in our parade. We do not
allow any units in for the sole purpose of advertising. All
units must be of entertainment value. We are looking for
marching bands, musical floats, clowns, horse drawn units,
antique vehicles, and anything else that might be unique and of
entertainment value.
If you have or know of any unit that you would like to
sponsor in our parade let us know as soon as possible. We are
limiting the parade to 125 units. We realize that not everyone
has the time and or resources to enter a unit, but would still
like to be apart of the parade. If you are one of these we will
do the work for you. We have sent out invites to over ninety
different high school and college bands, musical units, clown
clubs, and other units of interest. How many respond back with
interest in our parade we don’t know yet. Of those that respond
back how many we can afford to invite to participate depends on
businesses such as yours.
We hope you
will consider being apart of this year’s parade. If you have any
questions you can phone the Stiftungsfest number and leave a
message. Someone will get back to you, or you can email me
direct at parade
